Mossley Band – pictured Sunday 5th September 2021

While we were unable to be together during the lockdowns, Mossley Band has been creating Virtual Band Performances.

These can all be found in the “About Us” section of this website … Enjoy …

This is a look back to February 2019, when Mossley Band were competing at Parr Hall, Warrington playing Legacy for Brass Band – a piece composed to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the British National Health Service
We are looking forward to great times ahead.

Sunday 23rd February saw the band competing at the North West Area contest in the Opera House, Winter Gardens Blackpool.

There has been a Brass Band in Mossley since 1841, when the Mossley Temperance Band was formed. It soon found its own place in history, by becoming, in 1853,  the first band to win the Belle Vue Championship contest, now known as the British Open, and no longer held at Belle Vue.

Mossley Band in 2020 is a First Section Band situated right in the heart of the Whit Friday circuit.  The band rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 8-10 in their own band and social club on Argyle Street in the centre of Mossley.
